One Land
03:31
|
|||
From the vastness of green valleys
Between the snow-covered rounded peaks
Lies the peaceful part of nature
From which the great creator speaks
Beyond the sun dogs and the ice fog
Beyond the deep woven Aspen trees
Lies the quiet part of nature
From the mountains to the arctic seas
One land like no other
Lies beneath the midnight sun
One hand reaches another
In the land of the Kwan Lin Dun
The mighty Yukon flows
As the clear nor’wester blows
Beyond the mighty frozen glaciers
Between the running cool water streams
Lies the secrets of creation
As reflected from the bright sun beams
Beside the clay cliffs and the snow drifts
Below the ice along the river’s shore
Lies this peaceful part of nature
In this country we all adore
Where the eagles/ravens fly
Across the vast blue open skies

Float on the Water
03:03
|
|||
Jesus walked from the shoreline onto the Sea of Galilee
He shouted out to Peter, “Come on, boy, follow me”
Peter got up in the boat feeling afraid and alone
He jumped into the water and sank like a stone.
Now he calls out to us in the very same way
“Get out of the boat and listen to what I say”
It's about your faith and perception and nothing much more
You have to float on the water
Before you can walk to the shore
It's about your fears
It's about your dread
It's about those negative thoughts
That float in your head
You gotta let go of what you think you see
You gotta open your heart and jump in and believe.
Now all those storms that come your way
That may rock your boat with a fearful sway
It's about your faith and perception and nothing much more
You have to float on the water
Before you can walk to the shore

Baked Cafe

I can't get you out of my mind
In this beautiful start
Filled with joy and as we talk on the phone
You've already grasped my searching heart
Flying to Whitehorse on Saturday
To share a coffee with you, baby, at the Baked Cafe
Overwhelmed by dreams of holding you tight
How can this happen at such a speed?
My mind can't keep up to what my heartbeat feels
Oh, but I feel it's what I need.
Flying to Whitehorse on Saturday
To share a coffee with you, baby, at the Baked Cafe
Nothing comes to those that sit around and wait
You have to make it happen to survive
I want to grasp your heart and never let go
If that is what it means to be alive

Hard Rock Harry
04:08
|
|||
He was a strongman built like an ox
He carried field stones and smashed sidewalks
He left his laughter wherever he went
I’ll remember him and the time that we spent
My father laughs about the stories still
How Harry’s voice carried over the Cobourg hills
Always joking with his wide open smile
Giving with his heart was his only style
He was a teacher and loved to watch us grow
Always planting seeds wherever he did go
Lived alone all his life was the way it was to be
Working hard to help his friends and family
They say his heart went before its time
Stricken by loneliness behind his sigh
Maybe the laughter hid what was truly there
A large man with lots of love but no one to share
Hard Rock Harry
I guess you had to go
Dust to Dust
On the wind your ashes will flow….

Two People in Love
03:18
|
|||
Two people in love walking hand in hand
Facing life together doing what they can
Uniting hearts together, it's clear to see
Love shines forever into eternity
Two people in love kneeling hand in hand
Comforting each other doing what they can
By helping out each other with honesty and care
Through the times of sorrow both are willing to bear
Their minds have come together
Their souls have found each other
Deep within their hearts
Two people in love tightly holding hands
Living life together united they stand
Devoting lives forever with both joys and tears
Staying close together to face the many years

When you fly away from home
The southern city lights await
When you leave behind the midnight sun
You’ll arrive at the gate, B 18
When you walk up the ramp,
Whether early or late
Pass the smiles of the flight crew
You’ve arrived at the gate, B 18
There you’ll see your friends and neighbors
Getting ready to start their course
Leave behind the big city
For the peace and calm of old Whitehorse
When you’re ready to come back home
You sit down in the lounge to wait
For the orange tail bird to roll in
You know you’re at the gate, B 18

When the mind fills with fear, the heart may grow cold
G A D
It can happen to anyone both young and old
G A Bm
But fight against the hatred you've been shown
G A D
Open your hearts and you will behold
G A D
Build a longer table not a higher wall
G A D
Open the doors for those who call
G A Bm
The bounty of this world is for us all
G A D
build a longer table not a higher wall
G A D
Let go of protecting what you think you own
G A D
Give up what you can and all that you have sewn
G A Bm
Greed is a heavy, fear laden stone,
G A D
That will leave you hungry and all alone
G A D
Build a longer table not a higher wall
G A D
Open the doors for those who call
G A Bm
The bounty of this world is for us all
G A D
build a longer table not a higher wall
A G
From the bombed out streets of Aleppo
A Bm
To the shores of Greece they come and they go
A G
All they want to do is live in peace
Bm
They say to you
A
They say to me
G
Help us please...Help us please
G A D
Build a longer table not a higher wall
G A D
Open the doors for those who call
G A Bm
The bounty of this world is for us all

build a longer table not a higher wall

Thirty Eight Below
03:42
|
|||
In one moment, it hits me
A slap across my naked face.
Steals my breath from its warm heartbeat
Placed into this cold dark space of 38 Below
Crystals float across my sight line
Ice fog hides the lonesome trail
Light struggles for existence
Against the darkness that prevails at 38 Below
Every now and then
The sky will open up and send
Shimmering green waves of light
Part of their own northern right at 38 Below
I struggle to understand it
The searing pain of freezing skin
Each step a further distance
Ending from where I begin
I must learn to accept it
Move through it’s bitter wall As black raven soars above me I’m warmed by his echoed call at
38 Below

Basil's Blues
02:10
|
|||
She left you alone she went and died
She left you too soon without saying goodbye
Now you sit alone in that hollow room
Things look bad and ol’ Basil sings the blues
You needed her to see you through
You wonder now whatcha’ going to do
Just like the sun without the moon
Things look bad and ol’ Basil sings the blues
You needed her to read and write
And now she’s gone it doesn’t seem quite right
She left you alone she went and died
Left you in your rocker wondering why
Feelin’ like the sun without the moon
Things look bad and ol’ Basil sings the blues
She left you alone she went and died
She left you too soon without saying goodbye
Now you sit alone in that hollow room
Things look bad and ol’ Basil sings the blues
